Q: How often do I need to log in to my course each week?
A: It is recommended that you log in to your online classroom on a daily basis. If you do not, you risk falling behind.
Q: Do I have to log in at specific times of the day?
A: No. The coursework at LTU is 100% asynchronous, meaning that there are no set meeting times unless special arrangements are made with the instructor.
Q: What is the lecture format?
A: Lectures vary with the use of audio and visual content. At the beginning of each lecture, students are given a brief outline of what will follow. Lectures are no more than 15 minutes in length.
Q: Are there group projects involved in the online programs?
A: Yes. Though you will not necessarily be assigned a group project in each of your courses, you will at least be assigned one at some point in the program.
Q: Will I be required to complete a thesis at the end of my program?
A: No. There are no traditional theses required in any of the programs.
Q: Is there an online library I can access?
A: Yes. The LTU Library offers 75,000 electronic books, 90,000 full-text electronic journals and 101 database services which are all available 24/7. Students can get help on using any of these by phone or by email (email@example.com).
Q: How quickly can I expect my instructor to answer any question I may have?
A: Your instructor will respond to your questions within 24 hours of receiving your message sent through Blackboard or email.
Q: If needed, am I allowed to take a break from the program?
A: Yes, you are able to take time off from your program. Simply do not register for courses that semester.
Q: Am I required to complete my program within a certain time frame?
A: No, you may take as much time as you need to complete the program. However, if you decide to take a break from the program for three or more years, you will be required to reapply to the program.
Q: If I run into an issue with an online course is there anyone I can contact?
A: Yes, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org anytime for technical problems you may run into with your online courses.
