LTU students start veterans’ group

After discovering a presence of over 100 veterans on campus, LTU students formed the LTU Student Veterans Association, a local branch of a larger national organization. The Student Veterans Association comprises all branches of the U.S. Military. Current LTU student veterans find support and conversation in the group that meets monthly on campus to provide assistance with post-service life. As the cooperative grows, it seeks to fully educate its members about government benefits and create a self-support network for personal and professional pursuits. The co-founders of the group, Nicholas Pettit and Jason Lawrence, have an end goal of expanding the association and offering support and assistance to veterans outside of the LTU campus and around the Detroit area.
